Gülbanu Güvenç, our OM/DS PhD student won the best poster award in "Affect, Motivation and Decision Making International Conference," organized by the "Decision Making and Economic Psychology Center" in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and "Interdisciplinary Group in Behavioral Decision Making" in UCLA Anderson School of Management. The conference took place during 12-15 December 2006 in the Dead Sea in Israel and hosted Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman as the keynote speaker. Gülbanu presented a poster titled "Cognitive and Emotional Representations of Terror Attacks: A Cross-cultural Exploration." The study was conducted by Shoshana Shiloh, Gülbanu Güvenç and Dilek Önkal, and has recently been accepted for publication in "Risk Analysis".
