Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ Awards for Scientific Achievement

Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ Awards for Scientific Achievement have been established through a generous donation of in March 2007 from Türkan Karacadağ and Şükran Karacadağ, loving sisters of Prof. Orhan Karacadağ, in his memory.  Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ is the father of Sinan Karacadağ, who was a student in the Faculty of Business Administration of Bilkent University in the 1998-1999 academic year.  Unfortunately he passed away at the tender age of nineteen in a tragic traffic accident on November 21, 1999.  The Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ Awards for Scientific Achievement complement The Sinan Karacadağ Scholarship Fund (for undergraduate students) which was established in June 2000 in Sinan's lasting memory.

This award is given in two categories.

1. Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ Awards for Graduate Students

The requirement for the award is acceptance of an academic paper by a prestigious journal. The award committee selects a winner among the FBA Ms/PhD students who had an academic paper accepted within the past 24 months.

2. Prof. Dr. Orhan Karacadağ Awards for Junior Faculty

The award committee selects a winner among the FBA Assistant Professors based on their research performance and publication records within the past 24 months.
